It's Christmas time, already!
Lots to get done for college but all of it is web related so lots of fun and interesting things ahead of me!
First of, my EPQ project, looking at the power of modern web technologies (more details later)
Secondly, my team project, project: Fourth Axis (3D modelling on the open web platform)
and lastly, some time to play with +Yeoman and attempting to bind it closer to the chrome developer tools (create a project with Yeoman and build it within the chrome developer tools. how does that sound?!)
Well, there's my TO-DO list and plan, lets see how this goes!

EPQ: The project/process so far
So, since June I have been working on the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) at college. This course goes through the process of picking a topic, researching it, developing either an essay or artifacts about said topic and showing the management and development process of the project.
My chosen topic for this project has been the open web platform and modern standards, such as HTML5 and CSS3, and how they are affecting the web and the quality of experience seen by web users/browsers.
However, due to external influences on the project, such as my other college courses (My BTEC diploma in creative media and games development), my time and commitment available to the EPQ has been reduced more than I had originally planned. Due to reduced time and resources my project has seen many changes and planned outcomes during the last couple of months.
My first concept and plan for this "modern web" project was to produce an essay covering everything that has happened on the web so far, right from the early beginnings all the way to the rapid development that we see today with new features and standards. This concept however was short lived after being unable to gather enough resources to build a large enough time line of events, the resources that were found have been saved and will be used in a future concept of the project.
The second concept for the project was a set of monthly artifacts based on the Mozilla Developer Derby competition. This would allow me to write about the latest technologies as well as create demos of these technologies being used. This concept was also unsuitable due to underestimating the amount of time available for planning and producing the artifacts required.
The third (and final) concept for the project is to produce an interactive slide deck using web technologies (such as impress.js or reveal.js) this will allow me to demonstrate the technologies of the modern web platform as well as prepare the end of project presentation.."two birds one stone"..This will also touch on the previous concepts and collected resources.
Onwards and upwards!

I'll be more careful with this one...
After several attempts with maintaining an octopress blog on github and breaking it I have given in and arrived on blogger. Will probably eventually move to a nice hosted wordpress site sometime in the future.
